Your trip to Mumbai is always incomplete if you miss anything listed here. Mumbai has hell lot of things to do but there are some of the most important thing that hardly anyone would like to leave. In many ways Mumbai is the best city to live in, Mumbai is a mad mix of cosmopolitan culture. The locals are super cool people to hang out with and the city is so charming that even its chaos seems musical. 
Mumbai has a typical subtropical climate. Winter is an unknown identity in these lands. However, it tends to get sticky and humid during the summer months. Hence, it should be avoided during the months of May to June. The rainy season is another time, it rains so heavy in Mumbai that it rains for 4-5 days continuously without break during which it becomes difficult to explore all the areas. Therefore, the best time to visit Mumbai is during the months of September to April.  

1. Gateway of India


The Gateway of India is the starting point for anyone who really wants to explore the beautiful city of Mumbai. Apparently, it is the city’s most important monument.It was built during the era of British in 1924 in India as an arch to commemorate the country’s visit by King Gorge V and Queen Mary.You must see the Gateway of India during the day and at night when it is lit up!
The Gateway of India makes for a great first stop for all wanderlust people exploring the city. The beautiful and magnificent gate has very well-designed pillars which remain strong till this day.

2. Caves of Elephanta Island 


If you travel about an hour by ferry from the Gateway of India, you will reach Elephanta Island, located 10 kilometres (6 miles) east of Mumbai. Once the capital of an ancient local kingdom, this destination is famous for the Elephanta Caves, or cave temples filled with sculptures and figurines.
According to legend, the name Elephanta Island was given by Portuguese explorers who saw a basalt sculpture of an elephant and tried to leave with it. The explorers were overcome by its weight and dropped the carved rock into the sea. The weighty elephant was later pulled out of the water and transported to the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum in Mumbai. There are still plenty of other amazing figures sculpted out of the rock on view on Elephanta Island.


3. Marine Drive


Just a 15 minutes cab ride away from the Gateway of India lies the Marine Drive. It is often referred to as the ‘necklace’ owing to its shape.
The main attraction of the driveway is the broad pavement and the even broader wall, over which people often falls asleep. It is one of the breeziest and cleanest parts of India. Best place to watch the sunset from the city!


 4. Street markets

Possibly, the greatest crowd pullers in Mumbai are the well-renowned street markets. Out of the many markets lining various streets all over the city, the ones deserving a special mention are – Crawford Market, Colaba Causeway, Linking Road and Fashion Street. They are famous for providing everything that you could dream of. Be it fashionable junk jewellery, stylish clothes, electronic items or even home decor items, these markets have it all.

5. Beaches


Mumbai is the house of beaches, being at the coastal side Mumbai has many beaches namely Juhu beach, Aksa beach, Versova beach, chowpatty, out if these beaches Juhu beach and chowpatty are the two major tourists attractions.
The Juhu beach and chowpatty are the places where people come to relax leaving their daily life behind. These two places are well know for their delicious street food. Some of the famous foods are Pav bhaji, Dhosa, Pani puri Sev puri, Bhel, and the most famous Gola.

Mumbai is the city for food lovers, No matter you are vegetarian, non-vegetarian or you prefer jain food this city has something for everyone.
